Manhattan has zero road test sites. Wherever you live, you test in Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx or Staten Island.
Brooklyn gives you six places to test - pick the closest one, from the Red Hook waterfront and Coney Island out to Canarsie and Starrett City.
Queens has more test sites than any other borough - twelve, stretching from Astoria Heights and Whitestone in the north to Laurelton and Rosedale in the southeast.
Testing in the Bronx? You have three options: Havemeyer Avenue in the southeast, hilly Riverdale, or Strang Avenue up north.
Staten Island has six test sites spread across the North, East and South Shores - Mariners Harbor at one end, Woodrow at the other.
⏰ Get there 30 minutes early. Using our car? Make it 60 so there is time to warm up.
Not yet. In New York a road test can only be scheduled once you hold the MV-278 certificate from the 5-hour course. Finish it, get your certificate, then book.
Standard bookings usually land 5-9 weeks out. Rush goes after the soonest open slots and typically gets you in within 1-3 weeks. Exact timing depends on the site.
